VP of People and HR Services
John Bartley is the VP of People and HR Services at Turning the Corner HR, where he leads complex HR consulting and compliance strategy for growing organizations. He partners with founders, executives, and leadership teams to address high risk employee relations issues, strengthen HR infrastructure, and ensure organizations remain compliant as they scale.
With 20 years of experience across multiple human resources disciplines, John has deep expertise in regulatory compliance, wage and hour practices, employee relations, performance management, documentation standards, and risk mitigation. He works directly with business leaders to resolve complicated people challenges and implement structured HR systems that reduce liability while improving operational clarity. John began his career in recruiting before moving into broader HR leadership roles, supporting mission driven organizations in healthcare, scientific research, and public service. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Theater from Oberlin College.
Originally from the East Coast, John relocated to Denver in 2016 after spending 18 years in Seattle. Outside of work, he is a classically trained vocalist who performs with Kantorei, a nationally recognized choir in Denver, and enjoys woodworking, gardening, and hiking with his dog, Fitz.
